HaiVision bridges Telepresence & Video Conferencing With Codian
(PRWEB) June 19, 2007 -- HaiVision Systems Inc. (Montreal, Canada), the leader in high performance network video technology, today announces interoperability between the HaiVision hai1000 and Codian's HD MCU 4500 Series. HaiVision's low latency hai1000 video codec systems, used extensively in telepresence and high performance communications, have the seamless capability to communicate with traditional video conferencing endpoints through Codian's MCU 4500 Series family of multimedia conferencing bridges.
The interoperability is facilitated by HaiVision's Invitation™ technology based on Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and by both manufacturers' support of industry standard H.264 video compression and AAC audio compression.
"Invitation is what everyone involved in telepresence has been waiting for," expresses Peter Maag, Vice President of HaiVision. "Interoperability with Codian allows telepresence to take advantage of the videoconferencing fabric of an enterprise while retaining the true to life characteristics of the telepresence environment."
"Codian provides an unrivalled rich multimedia experience to users that want the ultimate in visual quality. The collaboration with HaiVision highlights how Codian's platform can be extended to address the very high-end HD requirements of modern telepresence systems," said Killko Caballero, Head of Strategic Alliances, Codian.
Invitation is a firmware module for HaiVision's hai1000 series. The hai1000 is a true multi-stream codec system capable of supporting 5 high performance encode decode pairs. With Invitation, superior quality communication between telepresence endpoints can be maintained while simultaneously introducing the traditional video conferencing devices.
Invitation is supported on the standard definition hai1000 systems and will support HaiVision's new MAKO-HD technology for high definition H.264 applications.
Come see HaiVision's launch of Invitation in booth 4846 and Codian in Booth 4646 at InfoComm in Anaheim, June 19-21.
